The Rays called upon Chewbacca Mom to give them a boost before Saturday’s game against the Astros at Tropicana Field, but in the end, it didn’t matter.
Tampa Bay jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the game, and maybe we can credit Chewbacca Mom for that, but they still lost, 4-3.
The Youtube sensation threw out the first pitch, with a costumed Chewbacca behind her, and it wasn’t terrible. It first sailed quite high, and took awhile to fall near the strike zone. But it drifted a bit left, and was just a bit off the plate, even on Star Wars Night.
Chewbacca Mom’s first pitch was no laughing matter.

The pitch wasn’t bad for a non-athlete, especially considering what 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg mustered.
