San Francisco 49ers backup quarterback has been quite a polarizing figure over the past month since he began kneeling during the national anthem before the team’s games.

He’s certainly made an impact, and has had some support for his gesture. But he’s also faced a lot of backlash, including death threats.

And the numbers back that up, too, as Kap was recently voted the most disliked player in the NFL.

The poll was conducted last week by E-Poll Marketing Research, who spoke to 1,100 Americans, according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.com

The poll, taken last week, revealed that Kaepernick was “disliked a lot” by 29 percent of those polled, more than any of the more than 350 players asked about in the survey. Kaepernick finished ahead, in the dislike category, of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston (22 percent), Miami Dolphins defensive end Ndamukong Suh (21 percent), New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (13 percent) and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (10 percent).

So the real winner here is Winston, who, crab legs aside, is no longer the most disliked player in the league. To be honest, we’re surprised at how high he was, and we would’ve figured Suh would be just behind Kap.

These fans will have to learn to live with Kap, because he’s here to stay for now, and is not changing his tune anytime soon.
