A recent radio interview has suggested NBA commissioner Adam Silver wants a team back in Seattle ASAP.
Dave Mahler of KJR had multiple guests on his show Tuesday, but Spencer Haywood stole the show by revealing he and Silver have conversed about a team in Seattle. The nugget, transcribed by Taylor Bartle of Sonics Rising, has an interesting conclusion Mahler had to ask Haywood to reiterate:
“Will you help the people in Seattle understand that we want to make amends? We want a team back in Seattle immediately.”
“[Adam Silver] wants a team back in Seattle desperately. They want to do right by Seattle, what has happened. They want to make it right.”

Some interesting logistical problems have cropped up on Seattle’s end as of late, so it doesn’t 100 percent matter how much Silver and the NBA might want to make a return.
Yet.
This is the sort of thing that can gain traction and incite change, so it’s interesting to hear this sort of thinking from the NBA through a person somewhat close to the situation.
It seems more and more probable the NBA returns to Seattle in time. It’s the matter of “when” that will command the conversation as the NBA attempts to make things right and get one of the game’s most notable cities back in the game.
