UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has made a habit of destroying anyone that challenges her in the Octagon.
And as fierce and intelligent as she is when squaring off against her opponents, she’s also just as savvy when she’s not fighting.
Rousey is not afraid to take a stance if she believes strongly in something, and apparently, politics is a hot-button issue for her. CNN recently asked Rousey if she would support Donald Trump if he were to run for president in an interview last week, and the UFC champion made it quite clear as to where she stands on the issue.
“I mean, I wouldn’t vote for him,” she said, as transcribed by The Washington Post.
Rousey further added:
“I’m not really going to get into specifics of it, but, I mean, I don’t want a reality TV star to be running my country.”
So you’d think Trump would know that she’s not one of his biggest fans—except he doesn’t, as evidenced by what he said on Wednesday during an interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo when asked about women in combat roles.
“I’ll tell you what,” he added, “I know some women that are just — Ronda Rousey is an example, who likes me. … I’d take her on my side as a fighter.”
It certainly wasn’t one of Trump’s brightest moments—that’s for sure.
