Chip Kelly’s coaching stock took another dip Tuesday afternoon.

According to 97.5 Eagles reporter Tim McManus via Pro Football Talk, Eagles receiver Josh Huff could hear the Cowboys calling out the Eagles’ plays from the sideline during Dallas’ 20-10 win at Philadelphia on Sunday.

That could help explain DeMarco Murray’s two yards on 13 carries, Sam Bradford’s two interceptions and the Eagles’ 2-for-11 conversion rate on third down.

The Cowboys deserve credit for studying film thoroughly enough to decipher what the Eagles were doing.

Of course, these days when players call out an opponent’s play there’s the specter of cheating. But is cheating really necessary against this Eagles’ offense?

Kelly hasn’t been able to translate his college success to the pros, at least not to the level that guarantees relative job security. His decision to sign Murray is turning into the biggest mistake in Philadelphia since they cracked the Liberty Bell. Murray has gained just 11 yards in two games.

If Huff is right and the Cowboys were calling the Eagles’ plays, then either the Cowboys nefariously gained some inside information or the Eagles’ offense has just become too predictable.

It’s the Cowboys, not Kelly, who deserve the benefit of the doubt considering how Kelly’s moves have gummed up the works.
