It didn’t take Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy long to get in trouble with his new team.

Hardy, who played in just his second game as a member of the Cowboys after coming off a suspension, got into a heated altercation with special teams coach Rich Bisaccia on the sideline late in Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.

The incident occurred after the Cowboys tied the game at 20-20, but then gave up a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to Dwayne Harris on the play that followed. That would end up being the game-winning touchdown in the divisional matchup, and players and fans alike weren’t too happy after it happened.

But Hardy seemed to be furious, judging by what happened on the sideline afterward with Bisaccia. As the two neared each other following the touchdown, Hardy took a swipe at the coach’s clipboard and knocked it out of his hands. He then shoved Bisaccia, who responded with a hard shove of his own, and that’s when teammates broke up the altercation.

Bisaccia was asked about the shoving match after it happened but he didn’t seem to be too upset about it.

The interesting thing here is that team owner Jerry Jones downplayed the incident and defended Hardy after it occurred. He said the Cowboys defensive end was trying to fire up his teammates and is “one of the real leaders on this team.”

Real leaders don’t shove coaches.
