Oh, Google Images…you got ’em again, you old scamp!
Wednesday, the Baltimore Orioles announced they had inked Korean star Hyun-Soo Kim to a two-year, $7 million deal. Unfortunately, the Post Recorder (whatever that is) got a touch confused when they reported the signing.
Ouch.
Ummm…that’s not Kim. It might be a different Kim, but not the former Doosan Bears left fielder.
Don’t believe me? Look.
Yeah. That’s not Hyun-Soo Kim.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time (this month) there’s been some confusion with one of baseball’s recent South Korean imports. A couple of weeks ago, the Saint Paul Pioneer Press embarrassed themselves by mistakenly identifying new Minnesota Twins slugger Byung-Ho Park as being Japanese.
But…back to Kim.
In ten seasons with the Bears, the 27-year-old was a career .318 hitter with 142 home runs and 771 RBI. This past year, he hit .326 with a career-high 28 home runs.
