Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher has finished 10 of his 21 coaching seasons with seven or eight wins, including three of his first four seasons with the Rams.

He’s serious about not adding to his mark of averageness in 2016.

“I’m not f—ing going 7-9 or 8-8 or 9-7 … we have too much talent here for that,” Fisher said on HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” via ESPN. “We had some 7-9 bulls— this morning and we can’t have that. Deon is gone. That is 7-9 bulls— and we don’t need it.”

Fisher’s fiery remarks came after cutting receiver Deon Long, who had a female in his training camp dorm room past curfew—a violation of team rules.

“You guys take ownership in this thing, OK? You take ownership and you take your ownership and you trust that I know what I’m doing and we’re going to be just fine,” Fisher said.

The Rams are 27-36-1 under Fisher, with zero playoff appearances and no finishes above third in the NFC West. He’s entering his fifth season coaching the franchise, which relocated to Los Angeles this offseason.

Fisher’s Rams have talent—especially up front on defense and running back with Todd Gurley—but issues at quarterback could keep Los Angeles in the middle of the pack. As it stands now, Fisher is planning on starting Case Keenum over first overall pick Jared Goff.

Another near-.500 record looks more likely than not for Fisher and the Rams.
