Now, I know what you’re thinking…what does the former American League MVP need bats for? Turns out, Canseco currently is in the midst of a stint with the independent Pittsburg Diamonds.
But don’t fret, friends…Canseco’s bats were found.

According to police, they received a call from the manager of the Hampton Inn Canseco was staying at around 3:30am Wednesday morning reporting the onetime big leaguer’s car was being broken into. After showing up at the hotel, the officers detained two men…one in the parking lot and the other hiding out in a nearby car that cops later determined to be stolen.
“You know, it’s kind of funny, I’ve had my bats stolen quite a few times,” Canseco said. “But usually, they show up at an autograph show or with autograph dealers.”
The alleged bat thieves were arrested on suspicion of burglary. Both men had outstanding arrest warrants.
Oh…the bats in question. Six 34-ounce maple wood SamBats…not the one made (in)famous in the 1990 movie “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”.
