Comedian Kevin Hart has Draymond Green shook.
Remember when Hart called out Green on social media before All-Star Weekend talking trash about the three-point contest? How about when Hart followed through by tying Green in said contest?
Green’s collapsed in the games since the upset. At first it didn’t look like a big deal. The Golden State Warriors traveled to take on the Portland Trail Blazers a few days after the break and Green shot 2-for-2 from deep. It has all fallen apart for Green over the course of the team’s last three outings, in which he’s attempted nine shots from deep and hit none of them.
Zero. Nada.
For review, here’s how Hart called out Green before the contest:
This year I want to step it up a notch and take down one of the @NBA best shooters in the 3 point contest…
That’s right people u heard me— Kevin Hart (@KevinHart4real) February 5, 2016
No I’m not talking about @StephenCurry30 ….I know I can’t beat him…But I can beat his teammate @Money23Green ….Yeah I can whoop him — Kevin Hart (@KevinHart4real) February 5, 2016
As for the contest itself, well, the NBA champion who plays on the same team as the Splash Brothers couldn’t beat the comedian:
Ouch.
Look, Green hits on 34 percent of his shots from deep for his career. This year he’s shooting a ridiculous 41 percent from deep after having never seen it go above 34 percent in a season. In other words, some might label this the classic regression to the mean and be done with it.
But that’s no fun. Fun is the lasting memory of Green’s struggles after being known as a guy around the league who loves to talk trash on the court. CBSSports.com’s Tom Fornelli dropped a pretty good example on social media when Green and the Warriors took a 137-105 shellacking at the hands of those Trail Blazers:
Damian Lillard is treating the Warriors like Kevin Hart treated Draymond Green.

NBA teams won’t be calling Hart about a contract to suit up as a defender, but nothing’s stopping them from giving him courtside seats to get in a player’s head.
It seems there’s a curse on Green. Some might suggest more scientific reasoning, but either way Green continues to struggle with his shot, and under ordinary circumstances most would describe it as confidence issues.
Those confidence issues seem to stem from Hart doing just what he said he was going to do in front of the globe. It’s up to Green to break the curse before the playoffs.
