Kobe Bryant dropped 60 points in the final game of his career against the Jazz on Wednesday night in front of a sold-out crowd at Staples Center.
Bryant stole the show in the 101-96 win and topped Anthony Davis’ 59-point performance; and in doing so, set the mark for most points scored in the 2015-16 season. It’s fitting that he went out on top, and NBA fans were treated to one of the most epic performances in the league’s history, as Bryant became the oldest player to ever score 60 points in a game.
It’s hard to reflect back on such an amazing performance, yet somehow, Kobe did not disappoint after the game. He gave a great speech on the court and addressed Lakers fans one final time, and finished with an epic mic drop.
“Mamba out!” he declared.
His entire speech was powerful, and you can watch it below.
“I can’t believe how fast 20 years went by,” Bryant said after the game. “It’s crazy. It’s absolutely crazy.”
He also thanked Lakers fans as well as his family for all their sacrifices, and if you haven’t watched it yet, you need to.

Not too many players can put up 50 shots and drop 60 points in their farewell game, but that speaks to the type of player Bryant was.
All in all, it was a special night—one that NBA fans will never forget.
