Remember that little kid who took a crying selfie at the draft upon hearing that the New York Knicks had selected Kristaps Porzingis with the fourth overall pick? Well, he was in attendance for the Knicks’ 100-88 win over the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday night, and he took another selfie before the game, this time with the 7’3″ Latvian at his side.
The young boy, who goes by cryingknicksfan on Instagram, was not happy when the Knicks took Porzingis on draft night, and his reaction said it all.

Six months later, Porzingis is the Knicks’ top rebounder and second-leading scorer, and he’s played a big part in the team’s resurgence this year. And for that, the boy is now Porzingis’ self-proclaimed No. 1 fan. Porzingis wrote about what the exchange might be like with the young fan in a blog post for NBA.com just a few days earlier.
“I told my brother whenever he sees that kid he’s got to bring him to the sideline so we can take a picture. I will joke around with him a little bit, but not too hard. He’s still a kid. What would I say to him? I would ask if it was him who was crying at the draft and why was he crying. To hear the explanation from the kid, that would be funny.”
Porzingis had 15 points in the Knicks’ win Sunday night, including this putback slam off a Robin Lopez miss.
