Oh Larry!
Back in the day, Celtics legend Larry Bird and Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins had one hell of a rivalry on the court. The two would duel one another on the offensive side and put on some of the greatest one-on-one matchups the NBA has ever seen.
Perhaps their best duel was in Game 7 of their 1988 postseason series where Bird dropped 34 points while Wilkins pumped in 47 points.
Yes that was many years ago but it seems in 2015, Bird still wants to smack talk Wilkins even though the two have sailed off into the sunset.
Wilkins was honored with a statue in his honor in Atlanta today and Bird couldn’t resist smack talking his once rival.
Larry Bird on video says of Wilkins statue: "I'm pretty sure it's not made in a defensive stance." #ATLHawks
