The Dallas Mavericks and team owner Mark Cuban clearly have not forgotten about when DeAndre Jordan reneged on his verbal agreement to sign with the team last year, and they trolled him pretty good with a clever jab early Thursday morning.

The team agreed to terms on a four-year, $94 million deal with Harrison Barnes earlier in the week. However, since they couldn’t officially sign a restricted free agent until July 7 at midnight, it appears as if they (jokingly) held Barnes hostage until that time period. Cuban posted a photo showing a handcuffed Barnes just after midnight.

The Mavs clearly learned from their negotiations with Jordan, and weren’t about to let another free agent slip through their fingers.

It’s good to see that Barnes, like most players, is a man of his word (unlike Jordan).

And a job well done on the trolling front by Cuban and Mavs management.
