It’s safe to say the Seattle Seahawks have the Arizona Cardinals’ number. The team has outscored its NFC West rival 54-9 this season.
The Cardinals nearly dodged a bullet in Sunday’s matchup when running back Marshawn Lynch missed the majority of the first quarter with an upset stomach. Unfortunately for Arizona, he did enter the game toward the end of that quarter, and ended up carrying the ball 10 times for 113 yards (two touchdowns).
And he ran over multiple Cardinals defenders on a 79-yard touchdown in what was a vintage Beast Mode moment.
Cornerback Patrick Peterson got his arms around Lynch and tried to wrap him up, but failed. The Seahawks running back then ran over safety Rashad Johnson—nearly trampling him.
It was the longest run of Lynch’s career, and was reminiscent of his 67-yard touchdown scamper against the Saints in 2011.
