It won’t take long for the boos to commence once the Los Angeles Clippers step into American Airlines Center to face the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.
The Mavericks have already been pushing the #BooLA hashtag, and with all the tension stemming from what took place in the offseason still in the air, it’s clear that fans will do all they can to make life difficult for the visiting team.
Mavs fans will likely focus their negativity on Clippers center DeAndre Jordan, as he initially verbally committed to signing with Dallas during free agency, but elected to stay in Los Angeles when it was all said and done.
And even though Jordan made his decision over four months ago, the Mavericks certainly have not forgotten about it. Check out the tweet they sent on Wednesday to troll Jordan (and Blake Griffin, essentially).
GAME DAY! It’s an early tip on @FoxSportsSW. Make sure you arrive early, we might change our mind? #BooLA #DALvsLAC pic.twitter.com/0niP84ReLe

Some teams are still looking to find that happy medium between being funny and inflammatory on social media, but the Mavs nailed it with that clever tweet.
In case you’re not aware, the chair is in reference to a tweet Griffin posted just hours before the free agency period officially began. Mavs owner Mark Cuban had reportedly been driving around Jordan’s neighborhood in a last-ditch effort to land the big man, who said he was on a date. Griffin posted a tweet with a chair in front of Jordan’s door to discourage him from stopping by.

The Mavs and Clippers are set to square off at 8:00 p.m. ET. It should be an entertaining game, judging by all the banter leading up to the Western Conference matchup between these newfound rivals.
