Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a master troll when it comes to zinging his opponents, but head coach Mike McCarthy is pretty good as well.
The Packers pulled off a dramatic come-from-behind victory on Thursday night, emerging victorious over the Lions 27-23 in walk-off fashion after trailing 17-0 at halftime.
It was a 61-yard Hail Mary pass from Rodgers to tight end Richard Rodgers with no time remaining which sealed the deal, and the Packers earned a much-needed win in a divisional game to improve to 8-4 on the season.
But the fun didn’t stop there. McCarthy had some fun at Golden Tate’s expense after the game during his press conference. Remember, back in 2012 when Tate was a member of the Seahawks, he came down with a Hail Mary pass to lift Seattle to victory 14-12 on a controversial play by wrestling the ball away from Packers defensive back M.D. Jennings.
McCarthy clearly has not forgotten about it, and he made light of it with a funny joke during the presser when asked about Rodgers’ Hail Mary pass.
“At least our guy really caught the ball in this one,” he said.
Zing!
