The Minnesota Vikings fell to 4-6 and essentially eliminated themselves from postseason contention in losing to the Chicago Bears on Sunday, 21-13.

The Vikings defense put together a poor showing, giving up 468 total yards and allowing their opposition to convert on 10 of 17 third downs.

But head coach Mike Zimmer instead focused on ripping Soldier Field and its malfunctioning game clocks after the game.

You know, the clocks here are bullsh*t,” he said.

Zimmer has a point, though. The game clocks reportedly stopped working for a good chunk of the second half, and officials had to relay how much time was left in the game to both teams on the field.

The Vikings head coach also said two of the clocks in the endzones were wrong throughout the entire game. So the teams were forced to switch back and forth between the two other clocks which worked at different times. Zimmer called it “musical clocks.”

Daktronics recently released a statement on the issue.

This type of issue shouldn’t happen in this day and age. It’s certainly understandable for one game clock to malfunction. But to have only one that is fully functioning really throws a curve ball at both players and coaches, and can be especially tough on the visiting team.
