A New York auction house is looking to cash in on the one blemish from Bryce Harper’s 2015 National League MVP season.
Lelands is looking to sell the jersey the Washington Nationals All-Star was wearing when he got attacked by teammate Jonathan Papelbon.
But there’s just one problem.
”That’s my MVP jersey,” Harper said, “and I have it.”
Oops.
You see, like a lot of players, Harper is superstitious and, apparently, he wears the same jersey for long stretches of time throughout the season. Furthermore, the outfielder says he has the jersey from the Papelbon dust up at home.
