Maybe it’s the patriotic cleats Odell Beckham Jr. wore during Sunday’s game against the Patriots as a Veterans Day tribute, or maybe it’s just the fact that he’s developing into an elite player.
Whatever the reason, Beckham continues to make opposing defenses pay with each passing week, even when they focus their coverage on him. Bill Belichick is known for taking away his opponent’s best player, so it’s surprising that the dynamic receiver burned the Patriots defense for an 87-yard touchdown early in Sunday’s game.
Check out how OBJ turned a 25-yard pass into a lot more than that with his great breakaway speed that allows him to rack up yards after the catch. Beckham caught a perfect pass from Eli Manning in stride, then changed direction toward the middle of the field to make a defender miss after playing a poor angle, and he was off to the races. Spoiler alert: No member of the Patriots was able to run him down.
