So when Pacman Jones uses $81,000 to make it rain at a strip club, he wants that money back.
But when he’s fined $35,000 for brutally bashing an opponent’s head against his own helmet, it’s just the cost of doing business.
The NFL fined Jones $35,000 for slamming Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper’s head into his helmet after it had fallen off during Sunday’s game at Oakland. Apparently this isn’t enough of a deterrent for the Bengals’ defensive back.

Jones should have been suspended for this violent act. He probably would have said the same thing even if he were suspended, but at least suspending him would guarantee that it doesn’t happen for however many games he sits out.
Despite this video evidence, Jones said he plans to appeal the fine.
Hasn’t Jones heard anything about the NFL’s concussion crisis? Hasn’t he seen what can happen to players after their careers when they take too many hits to the head? Cooper might be wearing a different uniform, but there’s a fraternal relationship between NFL players. Beating your opponent physically is a central part of football, but in light of what we’ve learned in recent years there has to be some restraint when it comes to head injuries.
Despite being the victim, Cooper told CSNBayArea.com that he didn’t think Jones should be suspended. But just because Cooper is tough enough to take stuff like that in stride, it doesn’t mean that Jones shouldn’t be suspended. If he did what he did to Cooper outside of a football stadium, he’d have been arrested.
Next guy who does what Pacman Jones does will be suspended for an entire season. Why? People are outraged now, and Goodell is a twit.

Jones had been doing so well staying out of trouble in recent years. But it looks like this Bengal hasn’t really changed his stripes.
