Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, who is set to turn 40 in March, could very well be playing in his last game in Super Bowl 50. And he’s now even said it himself.

At the end of Sunday’s AFC Championship game, when players and coaches for both teams exchanged pleasantries in the handshake line, a hot mic picked up a short conversation between Manning and Bill Belichick.

“Hey listen, this might be my last rodeo,” Manning told him. “So, it sure has been a pleasure.”

It would certainly make sense for Manning to go out on top. Win or lose in Super Bowl 50, he was able to defeat Tom Brady and Belichick one final time in a conference title game, and for him, that’s like a mini-Super Bowl.

Only Manning knows for sure if this will be his final rodeo, but it certainly looks like that will be the case, from reading the tea leaves. At least we’ll get to enjoy one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history going up against arguably the best player in the NFL right now (Cam Newton). That will be a real treat.
