The Pittsburgh Penguins, once again, hoisted the Stanley Cup Trophy on the road at SAP Center on Sunday night, and drank tons of beer out of it. The good news is that they’re now home and will be celebrating there in just a few days.

The team announced a parade will be held in downtown Pittsburgh on Wednesday, beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET. Judging by how well-planned the route is, it’s evident that this isn’t the first time they’ve celebrating a championship. Here are the details (via the city’s official website).

The parade route will follow a similar route as previous championship parades that took place in 2009. The route will begin on Grant Street at Liberty Avenue, travel along Grant Street to the Boulevard of the Allies, turn right onto the Boulevard of the Allies and will end at the intersection of the Boulevard of the Allies and Stanwix Street. A stage will be set up at Stanwix Street for celebratory remarks from Pittsburgh Penguins personnel.

Road closures and parade route barricade installation will begin at 12:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

It’s crazy to think that with just a few weeks remaining in the regular season, the Penguins weren’t even in playoff contention. And they got hot, caught fire and used their speed to fly all over the ice and give their opponents fits.
