The Houston Texans and two-time Pro Bowler DE J.J. Watt recently agreed to terms on a long-term extension, according to a report from the Houston Chronicle’s John McClain.

Watt had two years remaining on his current deal. He was set to earn a $1.9 million base salary this season, and had a $6.9 million option in 2015.

The 2012 Defensive Player of the Year recorded 10.5 sacks last year. But playing in the same defensive front with No. 1 overall draft pick Jadeveon Clowney should help his production revert closer to where it was in his sophomore season (20.5 sacks).
