The Redskins need a replacement for outside linebacker Junior Galette, who is out for the season with a torn Achilles.
Greg Hardy’s name has come up, according to ESPN’s Ed Werder via Pro Football Talk.
Hardy had six sacks in 12 games for the Cowboys last season. He had just two sacks in his last eight games. The Cowboys didn’t bring him back. Not only did Hardy not produce, but he also carries the baggage of his domestic violence history.
For most of the offseason, Hardy didn’t get a sniff. But with the season drawing closer and teams getting more desperate, the soon-to-be-28-year-old is drawing more interest. He worked out for the Jaguars last week, and now it’s possible he could join a division rival of his former team.
Former Panthers teammate Josh Norman would support bringing in the former Pro Bowler, according to Werder’s report.
The Redskins might see some people holding signs of protest 0utside FedEx Field if they sign Hardy, but because of their team name it’s nothing they haven’t seen.
