Let’s face it. The NFL is more entertaining when Richard Sherman is running his mouth.

The Seahawks cornerback didn’t quite do that when he talked to 710ESPN, but Sherman said “it would be a lot of fun” to cover Dez Bryant if the Cowboys receiver returns to action Sunday at Dallas.

Sherman hasn’t been as visible this season because of the Seahawks’ sluggish 3-4 start. His desire to be challenged by one of the NFL’s top receivers is hardly bulletin board material. But maybe the Sherman quote machine is booting up and will fill the airwaves later in the season.

Sherman has just three pass breakups this season. That’s not even among the top 40 in the league. Maybe his Stanford education makes him smart enough to keep his mouth shut when he’s not performing.

The last time Bryant played against the Seahawks, he caught just four of the 10 passes thrown his way in the Cowboys’ 30-23 win at Seattle last season.

It’s unclear in the Seahawks’ defensive scheme whether or not Sherman will cover Bryant, but if Bryant does return to the 2-4 Cowboys, it will make it a more interesting match-up between two teams that need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive.
