With NBA action back in full swing, fans have been enjoying a full dose of transition buckets, high-flying dunks and step-back jumpers.
But they’ve also had to witness a few things that make the game less enjoyable: like flops, for instance. Russell Westbrook committed a flop for the ages in Wednesday night’s game against the Raptors.
Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas hauled in a rebound with 1:17 left in the game and the Thunder leading 97-95. He attempted to clear some space by swinging his elbows, but Westbrook, in a poor attempt to draw a foul, went flying backward to make it look like he was elbowed.
He hit the floor hard, but was never touched by Valanciunas.
Westbrook somehow was not hit with a technical foul for committing the flop of the year thus far, but karma seemed to be on the Raptors’ side afterward. The Thunder scored only one point during the remainder of the game, while the Raptors scored eight and emerged victorious with a big win on the road to remain unbeaten in the first five games of their 2015-16 campaign.
