It wasn’t too long ago when Snoop Dogg ripped the Steelers and flushed their 2014 season down the toilet in a profanity-laced rant after the team’s Week 4 loss to the Buccaneers. At one point, he said he even considered watching soccer and tennis in place of football.
And now, just three weeks later, he’s quickly changed his tune.
Maybe it was when the Steelers scored 24 points in a span of 2:54 en route to beating the Texans on Monday Night Football. Or maybe he’s realized how dynamic both WR Antonio Brown and RB Le’Veon Bell are. Whatever the reason, he seems to be a lot more optimistic about all things Steelers.
He appeared on Tuesday’s edition of NFL Total Access to share his thoughts on how the team has performed in recent weeks (via NFL.com).
“Thing look like they’re getting on a good foot,” Snoop said during a phone call on NFL Total Access. “(Haley) looked like he was listening to me. He’s starting to put Ben (Roethlisberger) in control running that hurry-up offense, so we lookin’ pretty good against the Texans, and the Texans got a pretty good defense, so I was pretty excited about the win.”
The Steelers face arguably their toughest test of the season thus far on Sunday, when they take on the (5-2) Indianapolis Colts. Snoop isn’t worried, though.
“That’s easy. Andrew Luck? We got him, and we already know how to take care of the Ravens — we get them twice a year — so we’ll be all right,” Snoop said. “We need to get on a good foot offensively and let our defense keep click clackin’ — and I like the way we looked on defense, too.”
Snoop seemed to be a lot more optimistic about the current state of the team than he was just three weeks ago. He posted an Instagram video while watching the team’s matchup with the Texans on Monday night—which happened to be his birthday. In a shocking turn of events, he actually praised OC Todd Haley in the video.
We’ll check on Snoop again after Sunday’s game. Win or lose, he’ll likely post a video on Instagram. It’ll be interesting to see how long he can go until he blasts Haley with a barrage of four-letter words again.
