It’s been 20 years since “Space Jam” was released, a movie which sports fans around the world still talk about to this day.

The clever film which Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny starred in, featured many former NBA greats and was the perfect blend of real-life sports and cartoon animation.

There have been rumors of a sequel for some time now, and we finally have word that this will be a thing.

LeBron James will star in the film, and it will be directed by Justin Lin (via the Hollywood Reporter).

Shortly after this story broke, James was asked about the movie when the Hawks-Cavaliers game concluded. He confirmed the movie is in the works and said “it’s about damn time.”

This is great news, and even though it’ll be tough to live up to the original, it should be a great film for young sports fans.
