Tony Romo has returned from his fractured collarbone only to play in Miami weather that’s going to make that collarbone throb when he gets old.
The Cowboys quarterback might have felt like he should have waited another week to come back when he was under pressure in a driving rain deep in his own end zone. With Neville Hewitt and Olivier Vernon bearing down on him, Romo was in a spot where he could only use his left hand. But he completed the desperation third-down pass to Darren McFadden for nine yards.
Romo’s first completion since coming back from his injury was a yard short of a first down, so Dallas still had to punt. But at least Romo’s creativity prevented a safety.
Now let’s see if Romo can make crownies left-handed.
