FOX color commentator Troy Aikman said what many of us who tuned into Sunday’s Cowboys-Eagles game were thinking while calling the game.
The NFC East matchup featured no touchdowns in the first half, and instead showcased sloppy play more than anything. The two teams combined to turn the football over five times in the game, and the Cowboys even managed to block a punt and returned it for a touchdown.
And the Eagles running game, well, that was an absolute mess. DeMarco Murray was fired up about facing his former team, yet he carried the ball 13 times and racked up just two (!) yards. As a team, the Eagles produced just seven net yards on the ground, and that’s not going to cut it.
Maybe that’s why Aikman shared what he thought of the game during the fourth quarter with a very honest take on the action.
“This is not good football, this has been a terrible game to watch,” he said.
Joe Buck attempted to smooth things over after Aikman weighed in by saying, “And with that, we welcome in a new audience.”
Unfortunately for the Eagles, nothing changed, and the Cowboys emerged victorious on their home turf 20-10.
