Things looked bleak for the UCF Knights toward the end of Thursday night’s game against the East Carolina Pirates. The team trailed, 30-26, and they were 51 yards from the end zone.
But every second counts. The Knights had one final play and only a few seconds remaining, but that was all they needed.
QB Justin Holman threw up a prayer toward the end zone. The ball hung up for what seemed like forever, and many thought the ball would never even reach the end zone.
It didn’t. But it did fall right into the hands of Breshad Perriman at the 1-yard line. And he hauled it in over the outstretched hands of ECU defenders.
And what was defensive back DaShaun Amos doing on the play? He actually unbuckled the chin strap of his helmet while the ball was in the air, as if the game was already over. That won’t go over well when the team watches the game tape.

The Knights won the game, 32-30, in the most epic way possible. They’ve now clinched a share of the AAC title, and will be playing in a bowl game.
