With Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant getting some much-needed rest, someone had to pick up the slack and score some points in Tuesday’s game against the Golden State Warriors.
The team received some help at halftime from former center Vlade Divac. He was in town to attempt a half-court shot for charity.
And while he certainly isn’t known for shooting from long distance, he did have a knack for coming up big in key moments of games. That’s exactly what happened on Tuesday night, when he drilled this half-court shot—netting $90,000 for charity.
Here’s what it looked like from the basket’s point of view.
Let’s check out the crowd’s reaction to the big shot.
And, most importantly, Divac got his props from Jack Nicholson.
Here’s the craziest thing about the half-courter, though.
We had @JoeyARamirez research this: Vlade Divac never made a shot past 27 feet in his career.

It was a great night all around at Staples Center. The Lakers played their best game of the season and beat the NBA’s best team—the Golden State Warriors—115-105. And the most stunning part about it is that they did it without Kobe.
