After two games the globe has seen enough—the Golden State Warriors don’t need to actually keep playing the Houston Rockets.

For official NBA purposes the show must go on through Game 4. But as NBAonTNT pointed out on a broadcast recently (via Bleacher Report), there’s absolutely no reason to play games four, five or six:

Cold blooded, but oh-so-true.

Game 1: Stephen Curry pours in 24 points in a simple 104-78 blowout. James Harden scores 17, Dwight Howard 14. No other starter in double digits.

Game 2: Curry sits out with a slight ankle issue. A simple 115-106 Warriors win. Klay Thompson erupts for 34 points. Harden musters 28, but takes 19 shots to do so. Howard scores 12.

So yes, this series is over. Houston backed into the playoffs after performing as the most disappointing team of the year, and one that’s about to blow it all up this summer. Any hope the Rockets could discover their potential and make this interesting has been laughed away.

So much so a network carrying the games has laughed it off.
