Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning put on yet another passing clinic in Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders, completing 31 of 44 passes for 340 yards (five touchdowns, two interceptions).

And he provided us with a funny moment toward the end of the third quarter in the AFC matchup. The Broncos were leading at the time, 41-10, and backup QB Brock Osweiler was under the impression that he was going to get some playing time with Manning likely done for the day. This is understandable, as the veteran QB had already thrown five touchdown passes.

Osweiler took his cap off and grabbed his helmet as he prepared to take the field.

But without any warning, Manning suddenly appeared and ran back out onto the field. And Osweiler threw up his hands in frustration, during a funny exchange that had a “C’Mon Man!” feel to it.

Osweiler wouldn’t have to wait long for his chance to line up under center. Manning handed the ball off to RB C.J. Anderson in what was the final play of the third quarter. The team’s backup quarterback then came in on the following play during the final stanza of the game. He completed two of five passes for 13 yards.

We now know that when Manning says he’s going to play three full quartershe means it.
