One particular ballgirl at Fenway Park had an “oops” moment on Friday night.
When KC Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer grounded a 3-2 pitch down the first-base line in the fourth inning, she went down and fielded the live ground ball in her mitt like a field player would.
She then realized what had happened, so she froze up and dropped the ball.
Her loss was Hosmer’s gain, as he picked up a ground-rule double.
The Red Sox have had issues with defense this year, and maybe the team has found itself a new third baseman.
