New Comiskey Park U.S. Cellular Field is no more.

Ladies and gentlemen…feast your eyes on, wait for it, Guaranteed Rate Field. Beginning in November, the Chicago White Sox will enter into a 13-year naming rights deal with the mortgage company.

“We view this partnership as an opportunity to connect a successful Chicago business with a historic baseball franchise, and we look forward to growing this important relationship over the coming years as millions of fans enjoy White Sox baseball at Guaranteed Rate Field,” White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said.

Snore.

From 1991-2002, the stadium was known as New Comiskey Park. After that, plenty of fans dubbed U.S. Cellular Field as, simply, “The Cell”. So, if Guaranteed Rate Field sounds boring to you, don’t worry…team officials are already bracing themselves for what Sox fans might come up with.

“Fans will ultimately decide,” the head of the team’s marketing, Brooks Boyer said.

Yeah. You believe they will.
