The much-anticipated trailer for Will Smith’s upcoming movie, Concussion, was released on Monday.
In the movie, Will Smith plays a neuropathologist who had studied brains of former Pittsburgh Steelers players who had passed away to tackle the effects of football on brain trauma.
Smith’s character spends the majority of the movie trying to convince people that football is dangerous and has a negative effect on players’ lives.
The NFL probably isn’t going to be too happy about this movie, given its timing. If Smith steals the show, like he tends to do, it will generate a reaction from the public about a hot-button issue that the league is currently faced with.
The movie is based on a true story, and is set to hit theatres in December.
