A Weak Recap of the Start of the Season

Holy Hockey Gods, the Sharks are ROLLING!

Sure it’s only the third game of the season, but they’re looking good. I know, I know, the Sharks have had good starts before, and it’s only October and they suck in the playoffs and blahblahblah, LET ME ENJOY THIS, OK?!

The Sharks look good. They look fast they look like that team I always wanted them to be. Joe Thornton is SHOOTING THE PUCK. LIKE WHAT?

So far Jones looks like a god in net, and while I know he’ll eventually return to mortal status, he’s been a huge improvement over the often inconsistent Niemi. Perhaps a long summer really was exactly what the Sharks needed to regroup and figure out whatever was plaguing them last season. (and that was likely a lot of whatevers.) I was unconvinced by DeBoer, but so far he seems to have a good system in place. Devils fans have convinced me to be wary, but it’s hard not to start liking a guy who can get Joe Thornton to shoot the puck on a (more) regular basis.

I’ve never seen such consistent pressure like this from the Sharks. It’s puzzling but amazing at the same time. Honestly, it’s great. I love it. I don’t know how long it will last, but I feel like I’m finally watching the team I’ve wanted for years.

In the past I did artwork for opening night, but this year, I totally forgot. I also used to do artwork for all 30 teams and make VS graphics, but I haven’t had the time. Maybe I’ll be able to get back tot hat for the playoffs (assuming the Sharks make it back in this season.) We’ll see.

About ctgray

I watch the Sharks because I enjoy futility. I write about them because it's funny.
