The American, shorter wise known as the AAC, announced their 2014-15 format for this upcoming basketball season. With 11 teams, gone is the round robin. It is replaced by 8 home and home foes, one home opponent and one road opponent.
For example, the defending National Champion Connecticut Huskies will play home and home against Cincinnati, East Carolina, Memphis, South Florida, Temple, Tulane and Tulsa. They host Houston and will visit Central Florida and that god awful court.
The league also finalized the announcement of the conference tournament. The tournament final will be played on Sunday March 15. They are pretty much trading places with the ACC, who now play the Saturday night championship game on ESPN.
The AAC tournament will have 3 games on Thursday to get the field down to 8 for the quarterfinals on Friday. The tournament will be in Hartford, Connecticut at the XL Center.
