Fantasy Friday (10/31/14) – Should you pick up Jussi Jokinen?

nhl fantasy

Fantasy Friday is back! This week, we were supposed to discuss Brandon Pirri and whether his production was sustainable. However, Pirri was diagnosed with a concussion this morning and is now listed as day-to-day. That being said, we’ll take a look this week at Jokinen and see whether you should pick him up for your team.

Pick Up:
Jussi Jokinen (C/LW) – Owned in 27%  of Yahoo! Leagues
Last Three Games

G A P +/- PIMs Hits Blocks SOG PPP
0 4 4 +2 4 0 2 4 2

Although Jokinen hasn’t registered his first goal, he is still moving the puck around and making things happen on the power play. He’s had a pretty impressive showing the past 3 games from an offensive standpoint but he won’t necessarily be a multi-cat (PIMs, Hits, Blocks) threat for your team. I’ve wrote about Jokinen before on TSS and expect him to bring in around 45 points this season. Also, his dual position eligibility is a nice plus and will add some flexibility for your lineup. With his low ownership in Yahoo! Leagues, you should easily be able to pick up Jokinen for your roster. I wouldn’t necessarily bring in Jokinen for the season but I would track him throughout the year and have him come in as an injury replacement or if one of your forwards isn’t necessarily scoring.

Fantasy Friday will return next week (11/07/14) with more Panthers-related Fantasy Hockey content!
