Cat Tracks (3/14/16): Florida Panthers (2) @ New York Islanders (3)

That one hurt.

A strong 40 minutes of hockey were turned in by the road Cats. Unfortunately, they circled the wagons in the 3rd period, and it came back to bite them. It took all of 5:31 for the Panthers to go from a two-goal cushion to trailing by one. It was ugly, and there’s not much to say about it, other than this is an example of what happens when a team plays with too much risk aversion.

GREEN: It was fun while it lasted. The first period in particular was real strong.

YELLOW: Big Nick finally hits the net after 12 games. He’s been shooting a lot more of late. Though he did it without Kyle Rau, hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

RED: And it was going so well…
