Cat Tracks: Winnipeg Jets (1) @ Florida Panthers (3)

History was made tonight at the BB&T Center! Jaromir Jagr tied, then passed Brett Hull for 3rd all-time in goals scored with a two goal performance. Its too bad they weren’t able to set him up for the hat trick. They tried late with the goalie pulled, but it was not meant to be. It was something else to see the Panther fans in BB&T Center so jazzed. The barn was a light with excitement.

Jagr aside, I came away very impressed with Kyle Rau. He was the beneficiary of an unfortunate injury to Jonathan Huberdeau (who we all hope will be all right), double shifting at wing with Nick Bjugstad and Reilly Smith. He didn’t look out of place either, he was able to jump into the play and create some chances. I’d love to see him get a regular shift with Bjugstad, should Huberdeau miss any time.
