The Islanders are playing their final games inside the Nassau Coliseum prior to their move to Brooklyn for the 2015-16 season. Fans are eager to grab a piece of history before the doors close on the Isles’ time in the Coliseum, but they may be a bit too eager if Game 3 was any indication.

As impressive as it is that some fans brought tools to take their seats home, the feat becomes less impressive when you consider that the Islanders are going to need those seats for Game 4. The organization is going to have to replace those seats or they’re going to be met with some pretty unhappy ticket holders when the Isles host the Capitals on Tuesday.
We’d give this move a pass if this was the last game of the year for the Islanders (honestly, sneaking in tools and sneaking out seats is kind of ridiculous), but this puts the team and fellow Isles fans in a tough spot. It’s not clear when the Isles will be done with the Coliseum, but it’s clear some fans are ready to bring home a piece of history as soon as possible.
