The 2013-14 season is in the books. There were a few tight playoff races, but the overall picture was mostly decided. Despite there being few truly pivotal games in the final week, the fights didn’t disappoint.

This will be our final regular installment of Hockey Fights of the Week for the 13-14 season. Stay tuned as we’ll be releasing our massive recap of the year’s best fights in the near future.

5. Derek Dorsett (NYR) vs Francis Bouillon (MON) – April 12

This Dorsett-Bouillon fight could have been the top fight had it taken place over the course of the last month. In the final week of the season, it ranks fifth. That should give you a good idea of what you’re in store for.

Dorsett appears to win by a bit, but you could make a strong case for either player.

4. Chris Neil (OTT) vs Tanner Glass (PIT) – April 13

Neil and Glass renewed their old rivalry in the waning moments of 2013-14. The two dropped the mitts twice in 2008, but it’s been quiet for nearly six years. When the two met up this past week, things got nasty in a hurry. Glass may be a weakness for Pittsburgh in the playoffs when it comes to offensive production, but he knows how to dance.

3. Matt Kassian (OTT) vs Brett Gallant (NYI) – April 8

One and done. Kassian gets his punch off, but he’s no match for Gallant’s response. This is easily a contender for quickest, most lopsided fight of the season.

2. Scott Mayfield (NYI) vs Nicolas Deslauriers (BUF) – April 13

Mayfield and Deslauriers are two players you may not be familiar with, but you’ll probably remember Deslauriers after this one. The Sabre connects on almost every punch he throws. Amazingly, Mayfield keeps his feet, but this fight is one of the few victories for the Buffalo Sabres this season.

1. Justin Johnson (NYI) vs John Scott (BUF) – April 13

Speaking of Buffalo, here’s a fight with the widely debated John Scott. The man has one skill – fighting. When he fails at that, there’s really no use for him on the ice. Johnson hammers the much larger Scott with two huge punches, giving anti-Scott fans more to talk about and proving that you shouldn’t judge a fighter by his cover.
