After months of experimentation with young USMNT players, Jurgen Klinsmann is going with experience for the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup. While Klinsmann still has some youth on the final 23 man roster, there is more experience and veteran players on this team since the 2014 World Cup.

Here are the players going to the Gold Cup:

Goalkeepers-Brad Guzan, Nick Rimando, William Yarbrough

Defenders-Ventura Alvarado, John Brooks, Timmy Chandler, Brad Evans, Omar Gonzalez, Fabian Johnson, Tim Ream

Midfielders-Kyle Beckerman, Alejandro Bedoya, Michael Bradley, Brad Davis, Mix Diskerud, Alfredo Morales, DeAndre Yedlin, Gyasi Zardes, Graham Zusi

Forwards-Jozy Altidore, Clint Dempsey, Aron Johannsson, Chris Wondolowski

Clearly this is a squad that is experienced against CONCACAF opponents and is set up for a Gold Cup run. Jurgen Klinsmann isn’t taking any chances. After winning in 2013, the USMNT can qualify for the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia with a 2015 Gold Cup win. Otherwise they would play in a playoff game to see who goes to Russia. With Mexico turning in a lackluster performance and Costa Rica losing phenom goalkeeper Keylor Navas, the USMNT is definitely in the drivers seat.

Also, this guy seems to think he can contribute to the US team. He definitely isn’t getting any playing time in that Wells Fargo commercial.
