Ryan O’Reilly apparently drove drunk and crashed his car into a Tim Hortons. He then fled the scene, but the police reportedly caught up with him and have charged him with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
Sabres GM Tim Murray released the following comments:

Based on the statement above, it sounds like the Sabres were mostly unaware of the O’Reilly incident until the details were released by the media. That hasn’t been confirmed, but that in itself is a serious problem.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Sabres handle this situation.
