Who really is the best QB in the NFL right now?!

Aa

A big question that has been floating through the NFL is who is the best Quarterback in the game. You can make a case for some very big names currently. Some of the biggest names are last seasons MVP, Aaron Rodgers, or the Super Bowl winning QB, Tom Brady, or the young and tuff Quarterback, Andrew Luck. Of course there are many other big names in the NFL but when you the question on who is the best QB in the league, those names are main thoughts. So who really is the best Quarterback in the league?

When asked the question, someone would usually think or at least put in to perspective as whoever has the most rings in the league right now is the best. But I don’t think that should always be the case. For instance, Peyton Manning or Aaron Rodgers only has one Super Bowl ring. Where Eli Manning has two rings, but we could almost all agree that Peyton and Aaron are better than Eli. And there are quite a few other examples like that, where we could somewhat agree that one with less rings is better than the other with more rings. Some Quarterbacks have better lines or better WRs to help carry them towards the ring. Some Quarterbacks may have an easier road to the championship. Thats why you can’t always put rings into the deciding factor on who is better. If that case, Tom Brady would take the cake with four rings.

Some people would also say that the best Quarterback is the one with the most MVPs. That could always be a nice deciding factor, but once again not always reliable. The reason a QB would get the MVP trophy is because he has had a great offensive season. In order to have a great offensive season, you have to have great Wide Receivers and a great offensive line to protect in the pocket. Without those things and players being great, a Quarterback can’t have the best of seasons. If you were to say the MVP, if it was a QB, is the best in the league, then you would currently be saying Aaron Rodgers is the best Quarterback in the league. But if you were to see the receivers and the line he has, you would think to yourself “No wonder he is doing great!” He has Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb as his main two targets and great receivers under them. Don’t get me wrong, he is the main reason they are great but they have good hands that make him look real good!

So when deciding who the best QB is in the NFL, since you shouldn’t think about the rings or the MVPs. Then what should you base it off of? And that is obvious, STATS. Yes, good stats is how you become MVPs but you also get voted for that. You don’t get voted for stats. So if you were to look at the Quarterbacks stats single handedly, you should be able to pick out who the best is now. Or at least pick a couple who is close in compare.

So after looking I would have to say its very close between Andrew Luck and Aaron Rodgers. Both throw for 4,000+ every year with a very close amount of touchdowns thrown with 40 in Luck and 38 with Rodgers. Do you look at QB rating? Cause if you do Aaron Rodgers and even more would be better than Luck. I wouldn’t think so. Who is better in the game? Who is better during crunch time? Who can lead a team through any situation the best? Thats where I get Aaron Rodgers and Andrew Luck. There stats prove that they do all of that. Andrew Luck has a 98 rating in the 2nd half  of the game and Aaron Rodgers has a rating of 101. They both have a completion percentage higher than 60%. But with Aaron Rodgers less interceptions, I think Aaron Rodgers comes out on top for now. But very soon, Andrew Luck could and possibly will be the top guy who runs this league.

As for the close calls that I did not mention, it was very close. Big Ben, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tony Romo, Joe Flacco, and others. I just felt like some of them has already had there time.  And some will soon have it, just not yet. Some can lead the NFL as the top notch QB  but as for now Luck and Rodgers has it. I would love to see the competition get closer which I am pretty sure will!
