Quentin Rollins, Mike Neal, John Crockett, Ricky Collins Put On PUP List and NFI List

Almost half a day before training camp is set to begin, the Green Bay Packers team reported for team physicals at the team facilities on Wednesday. The Packers announced four players will not be participating in camp and will be place on the physically unable to perform list and non-football related injury lists.

Quinten Rollins was the biggest surprise among the listed players. Rollins injury may have happened sometime in June or early July, suggesting from the non-football related injury list designation.

Mike Neal, and rookies, John Crockett and Ricky Collins were all put on the physically unable to perform list following their physicals. Neal hasn’t participated in any offseason activities while Crockett and Rollins went down with injuries during their rookie practices. Both rookies were out with ankle injuries; not good for two players looking to make an already deep offense.

Returning to the field will be Jordy Nelson, who had hip surgery in the offseason. Also returning includes Andy Mulumba, Jared Abbrederis, and Don Barclay. All three players tore ligaments last season and were cleared to play on Wednesday.

Training Camp opens to the public on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. central. It’s a great time to see the Packers back in action but we’ll also see some seasons cut short. It’s inevitable, players will get hurt during the preseason. Hopefully nothing serious crops up on the first day of camp.
