Cornerback Brashaud Breeland Carted off the Field With Leg Injury

What an unfortunate day for Brashaud Breeland. Earlier today, he learned that he would not be able to play in the September 13 season opener and would be serving a suspension and forfeiting a game check for a marijuana citation in August of 2014. This afternoon, things may have gotten a little more complicated.

According to Zac Boyer of the Washington Times, per his Twitter account, Breeland suffered an apparent injury to his right leg during a one-on-one drill. Breeland had to be carted off the field, as he couldn’t put any pressure on that leg.

It is unclear just how serious the injury is at this time. It’s incredibly unfortunate for a talented young player who provided plenty of depth for the Washington Redskins secondary and whom many felt was primed for a big sophomore campaign.
